Made the firs comment private to hide user info. Here the information relevant to the issue:

When you export a chart that is connected to a datasource to a tee file, the data can be exported or not, but the connection info is lost. There is a customer who would like to save that info to load a chart connected to the database when imported from a tee file.

There's no generic way to automatically save and load a DataSource assigned to a Chart because they are objects living out of the Chart and we have no control over them.

The alternatives are (1) to reload the DataSource manually after loading the chart (which has to be done by the developer since we can't control all the possible DataSources), or (2) to save and load all the TForm with the standard TReader/TWriter.

I'm closing this since there's nothing we can do here.
