The vertical position of the X axis label does not change when you enable/disable labelsExponent. In the attached image, the superscript text is too close to the axis line and can even overwrite the axis line if the font is too big. When calculating the vertical distance from the X axis line, it should take into account the distance from the top of the exponent (if there is one).
