I think the behaviour of Demo Bar3D isn't correct, because the gradient should be only visible when Bar Styles uses gradient specifically 
To reproduce the problem, you only open the Demo All Features\Welcome! \Chart Styles\Other\Bar 3D\Bar 3D and change its style by Editor or combobox Styles.

Fixed.
Setting BarStyle to bsRectangle will force automatically Gradient.Visible:=False
