Bug 2044

Summary: What is the control in which the chart is placed in PDF page when the chart is exported into PDF
Product: .NET TeeChart Reporter: priyanka.shelke
Component: ChartAssignee: Steema Issue Manager <issuemanager>
Status: RESOLVED NOTABUG
Severity: critical CC: chris, priyanka.shelke, yeray
Priority: Highest
Version: TeeChart For .Net 4.1.2015.05145
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows
Chart Series: --- Delphi / C++ Builder RAD IDE Version:

Description priyanka.shelke 2018-06-20 00:38:50 EDT
1) We use the functionality of chart export to bitmap and PDF. It is observed that when the chart is exported to bitmap and the image is zoomed, the image gets distorted.
However, in case of export chart to PDF, the pdf page when zoomed retains the quality of the chart, it is not distorted and well readable

2) We use a third party tool to read the image saved to harddisk using export chart to bitmap and read the pdf saved, using export chart to PDF
The image is read properly but the pdf when read does not provide the chart data

Q1) I want to know what is the main control/element in which the chart is placed in PDF. Is it a paragraph or image ?. I need this information to read the chart from PDF

Q2) Is there a way such that when the image is read, it should not distort?

Request you to reply with the solution at your earliest.

Hello!

Firstly, please be aware that our support forums are located at http://support.steema.com - this site is exclusively for the reporting of bugs or feature requests.

To answer your query then - bitmaps are raster images and so do not resize well, whereas pdf files are vector images which were designed to be resizeable. If you need a little more information on the difference between raster and vector images you can read a little on it here:
