Instead of "ActivityGuage1" series being added, "donut1" was added.  
To reproduce the problem you should only follow the steps below:
1- Create a new Winforms project
2- Add Chart component
3- Add Activity Gauge Series by designtime
Then you show a donut series instead of ActivityGauge series.

I have reopened the bug, because it seems not fixed. The Donut series is added instead of Activity Gauge Series.
I have checked it with build 4.1.2018.05040
The image attached shows you the problem
