Please follow the steps below to reproduce it.

1. Creates a new project in VB6.0, and places a TChart control on a form.
2. Right-clicks over the mouse over the chart and selects "Options" menu to show the Design time options dialog.
3. Marks the "Alternate" radio button in the "Chart Gallery" tab (TeeAXv2014_Designtimeoptions.png), and then close it.
4. Opens Chart Editor and clicks the Add button to display Series gallery.

An error message is displayed (TeeAXv2014_TreeModeGalleryError.png).

Hello Nagai,

Thanks for the information. 
The problem you are experiencing is already fixed for next TeeChartActivex maintenance release. Meantime, if you want prevent appears the error I would suggest you set the Chart Gallery as normal mode.
